Model United Nations: Shaping Global Citizens of Tomorrow

At our institution, we believe that education extends far beyond textbooks and classrooms. One of the most dynamic expressions of this belief is our Model United Nations (MUN) program—a platform where students step into the shoes of global diplomats and engage with the world’s most pressing issues.

MUN empowers students to explore international relations, diplomacy, and policymaking through immersive simulations of United Nations proceedings. It fosters critical thinking, public speaking, negotiation, and collaboration—skills that are essential in today’s interconnected world.

What makes us even prouder is the legacy DECMUN continues to build. Over the years, it has successfully nurtured a vibrant alumni network—many of whom are now excelling at prestigious universities across India and abroad. These former delegates are winning accolades in inter-university MUNs, leading student bodies, and contributing meaningfully to academic and civic life. Their journey from DECMUN to global recognition is a powerful reminder of the long-lasting impact of this initiative.

As the Principal, I am immensely proud of the dedication and enthusiasm our students bring to MUN. Their ability to research complex topics, represent diverse perspectives, and work toward consensus reflects not only academic excellence but also a deep sense of empathy and leadership.

Each MUN conference is a celebration of youthful intellect and idealism. It is where future leaders are born—not just in politics or diplomacy, but in every field that values thoughtful dialogue and global awareness.

We are committed to nurturing this spirit and providing our students with opportunities to grow as informed, responsible, and compassionate global citizens.

Committees DECMUN 2025

UNGA

Agenda: Safeguarding Marginalized Ethnic Minorities from Forced Assimilation and Cultural Erasure

“The international community has witnessed a disturbing pattern of forced assimilation campaigns targeting ethnic minorities. Governments across various regions have, under the pretext of national unity or counterterrorism, implemented policies that systematically undermine the cultural, linguistic, and religious identities of vulnerable ethnic groups. These acts not only violate individual human rights but constitute broader forms of cultural erasure, often bordering on cultural genocide.”

UNSC

Agenda: Addressing the Security Vacuum and Regional Destabilization in the Sahel: Reimagining Peace Operations and Counterterrorism in Post-Coup States

This agenda tackles more than just Sudan but the absence of the UN and the failure of the existing framework itself when facing multiple terror outfits, mercenaries and military juntas amidst a humanitarian crisis. Africa has been discussed before, but this would be specific to creating a solution-oriented response with the attached post-colonial narrative.

WTO

Agenda: WTO – Evaluating the Financial Impact of Tariff Escalations on Developing Economies

“When tariffs rise, who really pays the price? the damage runs deeper than numbers. Behind closed doors, developing economies face silent tremors—currency shocks, rising deficits, and economic dependence. At the WTO, uncover the hidden layers of trade warfare. Who truly wins? Who silently suffers? It’s a silent battle of survival, sovereignty, and strategy.”

UNHRC

Agenda: Consequences of Economic Pressure on Human Rights in Fragile States.

“The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) is a committee composed of forty-seven members for the purpose of advancing and protecting human rights around the globe. The agenda is inspired by the current and emerging economic moves of major world powers towards marginalized third world countries The agenda aims to evaluate the consequences of economic pressure on human rights, with special emphasis on fragile states—those experiencing conflict, economic marginalization, political instability, or severe humanitarian conditions.”
