Our long awaited summer vacation to Kashmir finally started on 19th April 2018. By flight, we reached Srinagar-the summer capital of Kashmir. It was very pleasant and beautiful. First, we visited Tulip garden where the annual Tulip festival is celebrated. I saw different sizes, shapes and colours of Tulips. It was breathtaking.

Next day we visited Gulmarg. We experienced our first snowfall when we were riding on a horse. Due to heavy snowfall, the cable car operation was stopped, so we missed cable car ride to top of the snow mountain. My younger brother was crying, as he could not tolerate the weather.

Third day our trip extended to Sonmarg, which was the best place I saw ever. We stayed right below the foothills of the Thejawas Glacier. We went in truck to Zero point where the temperature was dipping less than zero. Our luck there also we experienced snowfall and I did skeing and made snowman with my family. We also made snowballs and played throwing each other. It was mind-blowing experience.

It was a memorable, mesmerizing and awesome holiday with my family. No wonder Kashmir is called as “Paradise of the Earth”. Kashmir is known for its  Snow clad mountains, clear water flowing in the rivers, unpolluted fresh air, hospitable people and amazing scenic beauty. Fin
